I've installed this patch, as well as the REG file generously provided by
Freudi, and all seems to be working well. I especially like the patch's
functions to copy the OE folders to the Recycle Bin as BAK files, and the
resetting of the compact count to zero - I checked to make sure that was
working.
I do have a question though.
I compact daily, and backup OE weekly. If you right click on the BAK files
after compacting you have a "restore" option. If I were to move these
elswhere, then after the following day's compacting delete them and move the
new ones (so that during compacting I would have one set of BAK files),
would this set serve as a backup should a problem occur during compacting?
The reason I am considering this is that it would be more current than my
weekly backup - not to suggest it would replace backing up.
