Why not just leave them in the Recycle Bin until needed? Seems pretty
simple to do and they'll be there if a problem rears its ugly head. g
It just seems that a weekly backup (after successful compacting) of all the
DBX files in the message store folder to a CD, DVD, or even another folder
created for the purpose on the hard drive, only takes moments to do and is
cheap insurance. Good luck and thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for your reply, Jim.
I wasn't suggesting or intending to use this as a substitute for backing
up, rather as a known, good, and current copy (between back ups) should a
problem occur during compacting.
