Default Contacts not displaying

What is it exactly that you're seeing? What do you mean when you say you see
the reference populate? What do you see after that? What Outlook version and
information store is this?

This is exactly what I have tried and did not work. I also created a whole
new profile and I saw the reference populate in real time so in effect, I
created a new one. Still the same problem.

You do not add a Contacts Folder by setting the properties of the Folder.
Those properties should already have been set. Just remove it. Restart
Outlook. Add it back. Restart again.
If it doesn't work, remove the entire Outlook Address Book Service,
restart Outlook, then add it back and add your Contacts Folder.

Maybe I am not understanding your suggestion. Could you be more specific
as to what I should do. I have re-created that entry in the Outlook
Address Book dialogue box by first removing it and then adding it from
the properties of the contacts folder.

Please advise. Thanks for your patience on this.

Russ, I removed it from this dialogue box, went to the properties of
the contacts folder and added it once more. Restarted outlook and still
no good. Also, I created a whole new profile, restarted outlook and
still the problem.

Doesn't matter if it's your only Contacts Folder. It's the reference
that is invalid, not your Contacts Folder.
It works for everyone else. State clearly what you did and whether you
restarted Outlook.

Already done so. I removed and added the entry. Also Russ, you should
know that this is my only contact folder (default folder).

This did not work.

Thanks.

You seem to have an invalid entry in that dropdown list. Remove it
and replace it with a valid entry he

Hey guys, I have an issue where I open a new mail message, and I
click the To: button, it brings up the address books. I select the
Outlook Address Books and choose 'Contacts' (my personal contacts)
and what happens next is that I cannot see a single contact.
however, the contacts are there and when I type the first letter,
"J" for instance, it brings up all of the contacts that start with
the letter J.

So that contacts are there, I just cannot see them initially. It
looks like an empty address book.

Any help would be appreciated.
