There are bugs in Outlook Express that have persisted in every version since
OE4. Since OE is no longer supported at Microsoft, I doubt you can ever
anticipate any future changes to the existing behaviour. Sorry.

(whichever XP Pro CD I use), I have to waste time editing the registry as
detailed in the fix.

Tonight, I've just rebuilt my laptop again. I then applied every available
fix via Windows Update before configuring mail and news and hitting the
problem again.

Why haven't MS issued a fix for this that can be applied via Windows
Update just after installing XP? Or am I missing something here?
