japanese outlook 2k is showing question marks in the subject line

Have a standard office 2k english version installed with the Japanese
Language Pack but in the subject line its showing ????? question marks
instead of the japanese text, this is also causing problems with i try to add
in the pst archives as they are typed in japanese text

Have tried using the japanese version of office 2k but it has made no
difference
