I think you are talking about the Date Navigator.
It belongs to the Calendar and only shows in the Calendar.

Is there a way to view the calendar as part of your folder list all the
time?
Example, if I click on the calendar option under folder list, it will pop
up
my monthly calendar with the All Folders under it. When I click on Inbox,
the calendar goes away. How can I keep that calendar all the time?
It would be nice to have a monthly calendar showing all the time and then
you can click on a date to see your meetings etc.
TIA.
