It appears that Hughes.net requires authentication to use their SMTP server.
Look under Tools/Accounts - Mail for your account with Hughes and double
click it to open it. Then click the Servers tab and at the bottom of the
page for Outoing Mail there is a box to check for authentication. Make sure
your Hughes account information and password is provided in the Settings
box.

I get this message when I send mail. Need to know what this error code
means
and how to fix it. I don't get a message when I try to receive, I just
don't get the mail.
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected
by
the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'jjon . Subject
'Email problems', Account: 'mail.hughes.net', Server: 'smtp.hughes.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 RCPT TO:jon Doe @abd.com Relaying
not
allowed - please use SMTP AUTH', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
Any help you can give me will be much appreciated
