The server does not support a SSL connection. Account:
'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', Server: 'smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', Protocol:
SMTP, Server Response: '250 8BITMIME', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server
Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D
The verbose part of that email message says it all: "The server does not
support a SSL connection". Don't configure your client to use SSL and it
will work just fine. Some other things to consider:
You can configure your client to use port 587 instead of port 25.
You can use a Yahoo! Public Profile ID (created in the account manager
for that account) instead of your at&t Yahoo! HSI email address
" to log in.
Your login is revealed in the email headers when you use
'smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', or any of the eight other at&t Yahoo! HSI
domains. If you log in with your email address, that is what shows up in
the headers:
| Return-Path:

If you use a Yahoo Public Profile ID instead, that is what will show up
in the headers:

I find it more convenient to use 'smtpauth.sbcglobal.net', myself. Like
'smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com' (or 'smtp.pacbell.yahoo.com', which is my
designated server), 'smtpauth.sbcglobal.net' listens on port 587,
requires the full email address as a user name on login, and does not
expect SSL.
Unlike the 'yahoo.com' servers, though, this one does not show your
email address in the headers, nor will it work with a Yahoo! Public
Profile ID.
