I do not know what happened but all of a sudden, my OE email does not work.
XP, windows, all applications, and virus protection are all updated.

When I open OE, I get a message that there was an error and the program
has
to shut down. When I hit Debug, the program shuts down. When I reopen,
it
does the same thing.

I have tried to do what the FAQ suggests; however, I do not know anything
about a registry. I fear messing with that as I use my computer for
business.

The Microsoft program error report includes:

Have you installed any third party tools recently, spam blocker, toolbars
etc if so remove them.

Rule out malware infection:
