Go to Start | Run and type msconfig and disable all startup items and
non-MS services, including any antivirus and antispam software. Then
reboot and see if you can then insert the picture. If so, then its one of
those startup items that is causing the problem.

Allow Paste is checked. So far everything that needs to be checked in IE
and
OE is as it should be. It has to be something simple which is why I am
missing it lol.

TY for your time, will keep looking for answers.

That has fixed the problem for many others. You may have to reinstall
OE,
but I would rather you give this a little time and see if someone else
has
an easier solution.
Keep checking back. You may get a response at any time during the day.

I have switched Identities and have the same probs. All freezes when
trying
to insert pic into body of email.

If all is well, you can import your messages from the old identity

delete it.

I have rebooted. If I insert pic as attachment all if fine, but
if I
insert
pic I get the optiont to browse which is usually where it freezes
up,
and
if
it doesn't freeze at this point only my most recent photo folder
opens.
I
cannot scroll to search the folder but if i double click on a
photo it
inserts into the email body, but remains frozen.

OK. You answered one of the two questions I asked. And have you
rebooted
since removing IE7? If you haven't, do so.

Did you get rid on OE7 via Add/Remove Programs?
What happens when you try to insert a picture?

I had IE6, changed to IE7, couldn't insert pics into my OE,
so
switched
back
to IE6. I have a new puter and hadn't tried to insert pics
before
changing
to IE7. I am running on a Dell Windows XP sp2, and am
using
TrendMicro
PC-Cillin.
Is very frustrating, have all the right things checked as
far as
Tools/Options/etc.
Please Help!!!
