I was having problems getting connected to this newsgroup but I think
somehow I've some how made the connection.
I'm trying to put my email files dbx. from my old computer win 98 onto
my new computer xp. I exported the files and copied them to a cd I then
tranfered them on to the new computer seeming to have unchecked the read
only box as well. But it keeps prsisting in giving me the same message,
"No messages can be found in this folder or another application........."
Thanks.
Dan
-is time zone setting still a problem ,not sure how to correct that one.

Are they in dbx files or are they in Hotmail folders? Hotmail folders
only mirror what is on the server, so you would have to download them
again.
If you are referring to a POP3 account, You have to copy ALL the dbx
files to CD. Download them to a folder on your new machine's HDD |
Remove the Read Only attribute and then import.

If you are transferring to another PC, and have access to a Windows XP
setup CD, or if both computers are running Windows XP, see:

P.S. Your time, or time zone setting is fast.
