Default Copying while Compacting

They are all being backed up, period. Corruption has nothing to do with it.
When you compact your folders, should you disrupt the compacting by using
your computer, or shutting it down, you may lose messages. This is just a
safety precaution that was long overdo. You don't have to restore anything,
unless you lose messages.

Thanks Robear. Is that KB article telling me that the copying I saw going
on was corrupt files being backed up, or just files being backed up in
case they are corrupt? Should I be restoring those .bak files I find in
the recycle bin?

I downloaded KB918766 to automate the registry counter reset after
manual
compacting. Everything seemed to work fine, except I noticed that during
the compacting a Copying window popped up from time to time. Is that
normal behavior? I had never seen that before I downloaded the Hotfix.
Thanks. Larry
