With 918766 installed, all DBX files are backed up during automatic or
manual compacting for safety's sake. If all is well after compacting, empty
the Recycle Bin.

Thanks Robear. Is that KB article telling me that the copying I saw going
on was corrupt files being backed up, or just files being backed up in
case they are corrupt? Should I be restoring those .bak files I find in
the recycle bin?

I downloaded KB918766 to automate the registry counter reset after
manual compacting. Everything seemed to work fine, except I noticed
that during the compacting a Copying window popped up from time to
time. Is that normal behavior? I had never seen that before I
downloaded the Hotfix. Thanks. Larry
