Is the left most pane, the Navigation Pane in Mail folders view? If so,
only mail folders will show.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for that but I still haven't found the lost folders.
I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003.
Following your advice I have tried to change my view by using the tool bar
at the top but the only really choice I can see on the pull down bar are
'arrange by', 'expand/collapse groups' and 'customise'. I have tried the
arrange by and expand/collapse groups choices with no luck. Am I on the
right
track or should I be doing something else.

Three folders in my Microsoft Contacts list have 'disappeared'.
What version of Outlook? In what view are you looking?
Luckily all the contacts within the three folders are in the address
book.
If you see them in the address boook, then the contacts folders MUST be
there, because all the address book does is display the contacts you
have
that have electronic addresses. No contact folders means no address
book
contents.
