Default Problem Opening Mail

Hi Andrea,

The 'intermediate' window is between the extremes of 'maximized' and
'minimized' window sizes. When opening a message window note the boxes at
the top right of the window (_,[],X). Clicking on '[]' will change this
symbol, and the choice to 'Restore Down' (two smaller cascaded windows
symbols).

The 'intermediate' window can be dragged to size, but the 'maximized' window
should always be full size by definition. The message window opens using the
'intermediate' window and its size can be influenced in unintended ways,
such as being resized after tiling windows.

What is an intermediate window? I think what happened was that I started
fooling around with the task bar menu to try to get my messages back to
normal--tiling and cascading the windows. And then once one of the e-mails
was in a tiled position, I was able to resize it. I still don't understand
what caused the problem in the first place.

Well done, Andrea. You likely ended up resizing an 'intermediate' window,
not one maximized.

Today whenever I click open incoming mail (or a newsgroup post), instead
of opening, it gets sent to the task bar. I can then open it by right
clicking and maximizing it, but I can't size it. What's happening and now
can I fix it? I'm using Windows XP SP2 and Outlook Express 6. Thanks in
advance.

Sorry--I have no idea what happened, but the problem is resolved.
Suddenly I was able to resize a message, and then all of my messages were
okay.
