Tools | Options | Compose. Make sure nothing is checked or selected in the
Stationery section.

First time user of this group. I can't change my font size. Whether I
use the Tools/Options/Compose route or the pulldowns for font and size, it
always reverts back to Garamond 12 as soon as I type the first letter.
