Default Re-installing OE6

I very much doubt that reinstalling OE will fix anything, but this article
tells how:
How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows
XP

Make sure your anti-virus is turned off.

If she has Zone Alarm 6.5 it will probably have to be uninstalled before you
can change the Registry.

A friend of mine is having problems sending or receiving emails. Her
Internet Service Provider has suggested there may be a problem with OE and
suggested a re-install may be needed. Before I go around to her place
tomorrow to check if all settings etc are ok I thought I should be
forearmed with the "knowledge" to effect a repair if possible.

Problems with OE are usually caused by related files, not by OE6 itself,
so reinstalling it is not usually much of an answer.

Look at the sites below to see if you can find your specific problem or
post back here with actual error messages if possible.

Win XP SP2 and updated patches. I need to re-install what could be a
corrupt version of OE6. Without reformatting and re-installing the
operating system how can I re-install OE6 or repair it?
