Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer
of protection that eats up CPUs and causes a multitude of problems such as
time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A/V program will
continue to protect you sufficiently. For more, see:
http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3
Then go to Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Servers and reset your
account setting to the proper one. 127.0.0.1 was either caused by e-mail
scanning , or an anti-spam program.

Bear with me as I am a newbie to computers and all. I had some type of
Spyware installed on my computer. My computer tech at work had me
"restore"
IE prior to the problem. Now, I can no longer send or receive msgs via
OE6.
I keep receiving the following error message:
The connection to the server has failed. Account:
', Server: '127.0.0.1', Protocol: POP3, Port:
110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
We've attempted to reinstall OE6, but to no avail. Again, I do not know
the
computer jargon, so basic terms would be appreciated. Thank you in
advance
for any assistance.
