POP3 = Post Office Protocol
SMPT = Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
The POP server is the one provided by your email provider, which may also be
your ISP but it can be anybody, so you need a name and password for this
server.
The SMTP server is the one you send your mail out through, and usually you
do NOT need a name and password for this server because it is the one
provided by your ISP and he already knows who you are because you are signed
on to his network. You can get email addresses from other people but most
times you only change the POP server name, not the SMTP server name because
sending is always through that same one. Hope this helps and does not make
