Personally and bluntly I think "firefox" sucks. I tried to download it and
it messed up my whole system. Put itself like a snake into many of my
programs and then would not let me completely uninstall it with that button.
I finally had to go and do a "system restore" and it finally has gone away.
I know it is in the back ground someplace but it is at least not messing up
my pages and sites as it was. Just my 2 cents and that is all. thanks for

This glitch I'm about to explain is probably more of a Firefox issue
than anything to do with Outlook Express. However, I've already posted my
problem on the Mozilla NG and the MozillaZine Forum. I got a few
responses, but they didn't resolve the issue. So I thought I'd try one
more place.

My system: Dell desktop, Windows XP Home SP2, DSL connection. Outlook
Express 6 SP2 is my email and newsgroup program, and Firefox 1.5.0.4 is my
web browser.

My computer is brand new, and by accident today I discovered a
strange glitch. Here is one way I can replicate it:

1) Firefox is launched
2) I go to Google.com (or Yahoo.com) and click Images
3) I type in some keywords and click Search
4) Several photos are displayed corresponding to my search terms. I
click on one of them, launching the web site.
5) I right-click on the page, scroll down and select Send Link. This is
where Firefox crashes. "Firefox has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." This happens at every
website when I reach this point.

One thing I would like to stress: If I visit a website directly, and
right-click Send Link, there is no problem. Outlook Express launches as
usual, and the hyperlink is automatically inserted. It's only when I'm
visiting a website via Google's or Yahoo's Image search engines. I never
had this problem with my previous desktop PC, or any other computer I can
remember.

I have tried the steps below to resolve the issue, but none have
helped:

1) Uninstalled/reinstalled the Yahoo Images and Google Images search
engines for Firefox
2) Uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox
3) Cleaned out the FF cache and cookies
4) Launched FF in safe mode and then tried the Send Link option
5) Made Thunderbird my default email program
6) Created a new FF profile
7) Went into MSCONFIG, and removed checkmarks from all the programs
listed, and rebooted. Then launched FF and tried the Send Link feature
8) Used a Dell program called PC Restore to restore my system to the
factory default settings, essentially formatting the hard drive. After
the format, I went to Microsoft Updates and downloaded/installed all the
critical patches. Then I downloaded/installed Firefox to see if the
problem would happen again. To my great annoyance, it did. This last
step convinced me the glitch was caused by some software/hardware conflict
on my PC, and nothing that I did.
