Possibly a corrupt message.
Ensure you have antivirus email integration disabled.
If it happens again clear the email on your server with another email
application or web mail or whatever.

Its an XP station with Oulook 2003 on pop3. When you start Outlook and

send/receive it downloads the 1st message but hangs on the second and the
Outlook freezes up. The weird thing is that there are about 15 of the
same
messages its trying to download. I opened Outlook in Safe Mode and did a
send/receive and it downloaded ALL the messages properly. I went back
into
Outlook and everything was fine. I was able to send/receive with no
problems. Does anyone have a clue as to what the problem was? Was it a
corrupt email? Im curious as to why it worked in Safe Mode?
