Unless versions match, you are SOL.

After furious head scratching, Rafe asked:
| Thank you for the quick response. I take it that there is no patch or
| hack I can apply to make the mail automation features function
| correctly. If anyone has any ideas on how one might get the
| automation features to function, please post. Otherwise it seems that
| I am SOL.
|
| Thanks again!

||
|| After furious head scratching, Rafe asked:
||
||| The scenario is as follows:
|||
||| I have Office 2000 running on nearly all of the machines in my
||| office. We recently moved to Exchange Server 2003 which came with
||| Outlook 2003. We ran
||| the Outlook 2003 install and chose to “upgrade,†which
||| said it
||| would first uninstall outlook 2000. On new machines I have been
||| installing Office 2000 without Outlook 2000, and then installing
||| Outlook 2003 afterwards. The
||| results of both installation scenarios have been giving us some
||| peculiar
||| errors when trying to use the “send to mail recipientâ€Â
||| options
||| from in widows and from within the office 2000 applications.
|||
||| In Word, I try the FileSend To Mail Recipient and get the
||| following
||| error: Word Could Not Load The Mail Envelope. This could be cause by
||| a network connection problem or a problem with your Office
||| installation.
|||
||| Another problem is that some computer users try to right-click on a
||| file and select Send To Mail Recipient. They get a message saying:
||| Either there is
||| no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the
||| messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as
||| the
||| default mail client.
||| (I have tried this, but it does not resolve the problem)
|||
||| One other error I have seen that is related to this issue is: Word
||| couldn’t send mail because of MAPI failu
||| “Unspecified Errorâ€Â.
|||
||| ANY help resolving this issue would be incredibly appreciated. I
||| have
||| around 10 users that frequently use the send to mail recipient
||| features, and they
||| have to manually attach files now.
|||
||| Thanks in advance!
