Thanks. I missed the fact it was XP Home. I'm not sure why he was trying
to do that either, except he had problems with attachments.

The OS is XP Home. Apparently it doesn't have Group Policy
utilities by design.

BTW I have no idea what the OP is looking at which requires
use of gpedit.msc. If it's in a KB article somewhere I suspect
he could be looking at instructions for XP Pro users by mistake.
Usually KB articles meant for both systems have to include
both techniques for changing registry values.
