You have a connection problem and you want to make it think that the
software that makes the connect is at fault so you remove the registry
entries to make it think it's not installed?

That's a bit extreme. It's akin to formatting the hard drive and
reinstalling everything because the cable wasn't plugged in......

Hotmail is known for it's instances of not connecting. Best bet is to just
wait out the problems and see if it connects later.
