I am also trying to import messages. I left my job today and saved all
the .dbx files I wanted. However, I did not know I needed to save the
"folders.dbx" file. Now, I cannot access that computer anymore. Is
there a way to generate a new folders.dbx file?

Copy the dbx files to the CD and then copy the CD to a location on the new
machine's HDD. Now, remove the Read Only attribute and use OE's Import
feature.
Make sure you include Folders.dbx or the import will fail.

Hello - I purchased a new computer and backed up my email messages from my
old computer to a cd-rom\writer disk. Unfortunately the .dbx files come
over
as read only. I saw an KB article # 252603 that says to backup to a
floppy
or hard drive. Is there any other way to get these .dbx files onto a
cd-rom\writer disc without it being read-only? Unfortunately my new
computer
does not have a floppy drive. I thought that would be like asking for an
8-track in my new car.
