How do I make this not happen?

In MS Outlook Express (which is the focus of this group), Tools -
Accounts - Mail - Properties, the "Advanced" tab. Check "Leave a copy of
message on server".

At some point, depending on whether you have a free Yahoo! Mail account
(1 GByte of storage), or a paid Yahoo! Mail Plus account (2 GBytes of
storage), you _may_ need to clear out the email on the server. With that
much storage, though, I don't know when that will need to be done!

Alas, if you really do have MS Outlook, I am of no help. I hang out here
because I know something about MSOE; I don't even use MSOL.

That part is very similar Norman, from the account properties page there's a
"More Settings" button and then a page that looks similar to the OE page -
it is on the "Advanced" tab.
