Thanks, but that didn't work. See new posting. I have to close
Outlook and then reopen to get it to send messages.

To get the message out of the Outbox, click FIle, check "Work Offline", then
stop and restart Outlook. You should be able to delete the message. Then
uncheck "Work Offline" and stop and restart Outlook.
