For starters, copy your form from the word document and paste it into a
new Outlook message. Then choose Tools - Forms - Publish As and
publish it to the Exchange Organizational Forms Library. Then, request
a new item of that form name and send that. See what happens. I
expect it will not work, but it is a place to start fixing it. If it
has code behind it, you may want to re-write it using the Outlook
Object Model.
I do not expect that it will work as desired, but it is a new starting
point. Otherwise, you will have to ask in the Word groups what you
should be doing with your Word Objects.
A word to the wise: when you publish it in the ORG Forms Library, use
a name like MyForm_VerNNN. That way you will avoid forms cache
problems. Keep at least 3 generations of the form design, and publish
in short steps. You never know when something you do one-offs the form
and you have to go back to an earlier version.
Also, go to
www.outlookcode.com and search for default form. That will
get you a result about resetting the default form for a folder and give
other info you will want later. While there, you might search for
other things closer to your specific task.
