Default Correct international telephone number formatting

Not so. In proper international formatting, the area code should be enclosed
in parentheses.

Most applications and phone devices (including Outlook itself and many
mobile phones, including those running Windows Mobile) will dial the number
correctly, just ignoring or stripping out the parentheses when dialing.

Outlook should not add parenthesis or brackets in telephone numbers that are
written in international format since it is not the correct formatting.

For example
+1 (555) 1234567
should be written
+1 555 1234567

Besides that it does not look correct in the user interface. It also
complicates transferring of numbers between different applications and phone
devices when Outlook is not following international standards and others who
interface with Outlook have to implement workarounds.
