Default View settings change

Thanks. I read through the URL you sent me - but didn't see anything that
related to my problem. BTW, what do you mean by "do that minimally?"

See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 You should do that minimally.

Thanks for the reply. I have several of the apps you mentioned on my
system - but they have been there for a while and I haven't had this
problem. Can you give me an example of disallowing this to happen
(McAfee AV, Ad-Aware's Ad-Watch)?

Options in several third-party applications can disallow such changes.
These include Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer, SpywareBlaster,
SpySweeper, Ewido, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or
Antispyware, and recent versions of Zone Alarm (Free and Pro).

Every time I boot Outlook Express to use the Newsgroup feature, my View
setting has changed. I usually have it so that I only see my own posts
and their threads. However, when I restart the app, the View setting
is
such that I see ALL posts. What could cause this?
