Default Links still not working

Being able to insert an attachment wasn't the problem; the problem was that
after I inserted the JPG, the message didn't post. Twice.

I've found the listing in File Types about URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol
with a NONE. After selecting it, then advancededit, I find all the rest is
as it's supposed to be according to the web page you sent me. In the mean
time I've run 2 different virus/Trojan scans, and 4 different
spyware/malware scans. Even though nothing was found except some tracking
cookies and 38 MRUs, the links have started to work again, and the machine
is working much faster.

I want to thank you for your assistance and your patience. I'm really not
as inept as it might seem after this thread; I just made a wrong turn when
looking for that file type listing; then when my 2 posts didn't post, I was
confused.
Thank you.

In a new post, or a reply, click on Insert | File Attachment on the menu
bar and point to the location of the screen shot.

Thank you. I was unable to access news.microsoft.com (Page cannot be
displayed). I have added the Microsoft news server to my OE accounts,
but it appears that the Microsoft groups are the same on that server as
they are on the COX news server, so I'm not sure if I've gained anything.
I still can't include a JPG attachment, right? The URL listing under
File Types that I was told to look for is not there. I have a screenshot
but do not know how to present it to the group.
Thanx

news.microsoft.com (news server)

You have to access the news server via your Outlook Express news reader.

Tools | accounts | in the Accounts dialog window choose Add, on the
expanding menu choose News.

Follow the Wizards instructions.

| The only URL file type is Internet Shortcuts. I'm going to try and
work
on
| the news.microsoft.com so I can attach a picture. So far I'm getting
"Page
| cannot be displayed" when I try to go there. Not having a problem
with
any
| other sites, so now I'm confused

| Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.

| | There is no listing for URL:HyperText
| | Even tho regsvr32 urlmon.dll said it was successful, it didn't fix
the
| | problem. Is there a way to get URL:HyperText listed?
| |
| | Apparently attachments aren't allowed in this group???
