And Defrag. Adding new programs when setting up a new computer can cause OE
to become slow. A Defrag may help.

Turn off email scanning completely. See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3
Also make sure the message store is compacted (File | Folder | Compact
all), but back it up first.
Also get the latest patch that addresses the compaction problems: see
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2
see if that helps.

Got a new computer, win xp pro, and running OE 6. Updated new computer
with
all patches, etc, from MS website. The old computer was also running OE
6.
So, I copied over all the .dbx files to the new computer. The new now has
all the folders and emails from the old.
I have noticed, however, that OE takes a few seconds to load and to
finish
drawing out the icons at the top, etc. This is on a really fast
computer,
too.
Any ideas?
Also, not too many details yet, but the client has said that OE sometimes
crashes with a "fatal error" msg.
Thanks.
