Default Address Book and Other Problems

OE6 on a new installation of Windows 2000 worked perfectly at
installation. I then used Outlook Express Backup 6.5 from Genie-Soft to
try to move OE from a Windows 98 machine to the Windows 2K machine.
After I did the move, which I have done successfully many times before,
and after the move reported as being successful, I cannot open the
Address Book or any email message in the 2K machine. I get the error
message that "This message cannot be opened." "The Address Book is not
installed correctly. Reinstall Outlook Express."

Well, I've read a ton of articles on reinstalling Outlook Express, but I
cannot find one specifically for Windows 2000. One had me try to rename
the OE folder, but that didn't work because files were in use. Another
(XP) wants me to edit the registry, but I don't want to do that until I
confirm that the directions for Win2K are the same as for XP.

Please provide any assistance you can. Thanks!
