All of the service packs and updates have been applied. It reports as
version 6.00.2800.1123. It should be SP2.

Yes. Both.

May I ask why you reinstalled (apparently) Win2K?

Because that was the OS license that came with the computer. It was
resinstalled for a fresh start.
