As far as your current problem goes, I don't know if a reinstall of OE
will help, or not, but here is the method.

Although written for WinXP, it works for all Windows operating systems
98 or newer.


And, if I double click on a message, I get this error:

The was an error opening this message.
An error has occurred.

That's helpful. How do I fix it?

Since the computer is 1000 miles away, and since I'm working through
pcAnywhere, there is no way for me to reinstall the operating system
without the computer being returned to me physically.
