Identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it.
If all is well, you can import your messages from the old identity and

Sometimes when I open OE the menu bar items (File, Edit, View, etc) are
greyed out and unable to be selected. When this happens, all items are
affected. I've always been able to clear the problem by closing and
reopening OE.
