Default Can't connect to news groups in Outlook Express

Did you go to
http://help.rr.com/HMSLogic/newsgrou...pic=Newsgroups
and look at the FAQ for your specific provider and ISP history?

502 means the news server doesn't recognize you as an authorized user.
Possibly you need a news server logon. This is specified in OE at
Tools, Accounts, News, Properties, Server.

Ultimately your ISP is the only one who can tell you why they are
rejecting you and what the correct settings need to be.

It's unlikely this has anything to do with a Microsoft update.

When I try to connect to the news server I get the following message.

02 Permission Denied - Connection Denied - Please see
http://help.rr.com/HMSLogic/newsgrou...pic=Newsgroups
(Tornado v1.0.6.371)

Configuration:
Account: news-server.ma.rr.com
Server: news-server.ma.rr.com
Protocol: NNTP
Port: 119
Secure(SSL): 0
Error Number: 502
Code: 800ccca0

I have talked to Road Runner service and they couldn't help. They
suggested
that it had something to do with a Microsoft update. I didn't have
any
problems until a week or two ago. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave
