Jim,
I'm now in OE as a different Identity, so I can see the missing post, just like
everyone else. So it can't be a server type problem...

It's in
microsoft.public.access.formscoding
on 10/4/06 @ 10:50 am
Lost Post:
Message-ID:
Newsgroups: microsoft.public.access.formscoding

Thanks Jim,
Al Campagna

Strange, but then Outlook Express often works in "mysterious" ways. Ask any of the
thousands of user who've lost stored messages just by shutting down while a compacting
operation is taking place. Wish I had some better ideas and really don't understand
why the message would not "re-appear" on a reset. If you want to try something, open
another computer to the newsgroup and see if you can find the "message-id" of the
problem message and forward it here along with the name of the newsgroup to which it
was posted and I'll see if it can be retrieved.

Just highlight the message, click Ctrl+F3 and copy/paste the following 2 lines from
the header (which will have different info):

Message-ID:
Newsgroups: microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlooke xpress

The problem is probably (Download ### headers at a time" which is sometimes rather
flaky. Uncheck that option.

Answer in newsgroup. Don't send mail.

Frank,
I unchecked the "1000 at a time" option, reset the NG, and downloaded all 6000 or so
headers.
Still can't see the post, so... as Jim seems to feel, it's some kind of
"registry/voodoo/alien abduction" kind of thing.
Thanks for your help,
Al Campagna
