Default Problem with composing emails using the "To" button in Outlook 2002 SP3

Aloha heartleaps,

If you look at one of the contact items, check and see what is in the E-mail
address field. Make sure that it was properly imported with the e-mail address
correctly placed in the e-mail address field.

Microsoft OneNote FAQ: http://www.factplace.com/onenotefaq.htm

Hello,

I've scrolled and read through keyword searches relating to my issue,
and have taken the advice I see, but nothing is working:

I exported my gmail contacts to Outlook 2002 SP3. I saved as a CSV
file in Excel and then imported them into my Outlook Contacts folder.

When I try to compose a new email using the "To" button, I can see my
contacts listed in the left column (contacts folder) but when I try to
add them to the To, Cc, or Bcc fields, nothing happens. A semicolon
pops up in the right-hand column, as if I've added an address to that
field, but the actual email address does not appear. Help?
