DBXpress run in Disk Mode is the best chance to recover messages, and in
your case, probably the only tool that can.

It has the ability to check the hard drive itself, rather than relying on
the dbx file which is now obviously empty.

While nothing is guaranteed, most that have used DBXpress in a similar
situation have had positive results. The longer you wait however, the less
chance of recovery as the fragmented files will eventually be overwritten.

It is a winxp sp2 machine.
And I donno whats going on before the PC malfunction. I just cold boot it,
because the PC has no response. After the cold boot, all my inbox mail
gone........
I've search for the storage, but only 1 file associated with inbox
(inbox.dbx) .
The inbox file only contains my test email, and the file size only
180KB.....
The inbox.dbx doesn't seem like corrupted. It seems that it has been
automatically delect by the system and created a new one.........
I wonder would the recovery tools still work?!

A general warning if you don't want to lose your messages in the futu

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They will eventually become
corrupted. Create your own user defined folders for storing mail and move
your mail to them. Empty Deleted Items folder regularly. Keep user
created
folders under 100MB, and Default folders as empty as is feasible.

And backup often.
