Default Windows Live Mail Beta?

Windows Live Mail is web-based and should work on any version of Windows.

Windows Live Mail Desktop is a desktop application and will only work on
Windows XP and Windows Vista. I don't like this program. To put it mildly.

Windows Mail is only available on Vista and is more like OE, but it will not
do Hotmail or any other HTTP mail. For the most part I like this program
and it will probably bec\come my main mail/news program.

Since there will be no future upgrades to Outlook Express, Windows Live
Mail - Beta is the program intended for XP users who wish to have a
current mail app. It will not function correctly with earlier operating
systems.

Is Windows Live Mail for Windows XP a web-based email program,
like Yahoo and Gmail?
