Default weird problem[?] annoyance with "Send/Receive" behavior and the Outbox

If you have antivirus scanning of email enabled, turn it off.

I migrated to new PC, using the Microsoft Files and Settings Wizard
[transferring settings only].

Using Outlook v.10.6515.6817 SP3 [and fully updated]
Windows MCE 2005 -- all patched, updated, etc.

I do not use "Immediate Send". Unsent messages are saved to the Drafts
folder.

The Outlook Outbox folder is behaving strangely --- if I have the folder
open when I write an email message, then click "Send" [on the message's
window], the message goes into the Outbox and is highlighted. If I do not
click "Send/Receive" immediately, the message changes from italicized
[ready
to send] to regular font [not to be sent]. In fact, if it takes more than
a
second or two for Outlook and my ISP's email server to get going, then the
message reverts to "no send" status.

There are times when I click send [in the message window], and the message
does not go out when I then do "Send/Receive" -- I check the Outbox [it
was not the open folder when I did the message or the "Send/Receive"], and
the message is not italicized. I am not certain, but when there are
multiple messages in the Outbox, and I *do not* have the Outbox open, it
even seems to happen then. This seems to happen irregularly. [It's hard
to tell, since after doing a Send/Receive, I have to open the Outbox to
see what message is stuck there, and once the Outbox is open, the
highlighted message quickly goes to "no send" status.]

This did not happen on my old machine [XP Pro].

I am stumped as to why this should be. It sure is annoyingAny help will
be appreciated.

TIA
albert
