What was throwing me off, is that under Mail Folders there is NO Contacts
folder.

Each of the buttons you describe brings up a different navigation pane. What the Contacts navigation pane displays by default is the contents of your default Contacts *folder*. You may also see other contacts *folders* listed in the navigation pane as well. Using the File | New | Folder command, as I suggested earlier, to create a new contacts folder will put that folder as one of the options in the Contacts navigation pane.
