Default Help, Please... importing 2000 (IMO mode) data into 2003, on Win XP.

Even though the file extensions are the same, there's apparently an
entirely different file structure between O2000 and O2003.

When I open the old PST file, it opens, and I can read individual
emails, but I want to move them to the new file structure. When I
highlight all emails in an old folder, and drag them to a folder in
the new file structure, it fails after 2 minutes. It says "some items
could not be moved because..."

I know for a fact that you can open a good OL 2000 PST with OL 2003 and copy
the contents to an OL 2003 PST because I've done it many times. Your
problem has nothing to do with the "different file structure". What follows
the word "because"? I suspect that your PST is damaged because you let it
get too big. PST2GB whacks data out of the PST in order to get it smaller
that the limit. Just because SCANPST was able to repair it well enough to
open doesn't mean the file is completely OK. If I were in your shoes, I'd
copy the contents of all the folders I could. If a folder wouldn't let me
copy the entire contents, I'd copy the first half of it. If that copied,
I'd copy the second half. If the problem occurred in the second half, I'd
copy the third quarter of the folder and see if that much worked. In other
words, you break your selection ranges down until you've isolated the
problem messages. You may lose a few of them, but you'll get most.

So,... I Removed Office 2003, re-installed Office 2000, and O2000
opens up the Scanpst fixed file, but I still cannot copy/move an
entire folder of emails.

So,... now I'm trying Eudora.

THIS IS FRUSTRATING.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
