Windows XP (SP2) fully Patched using Outlook 2003 (SP2) AND Oracle Connector
for Outlook 9.4.4.2.10 to interface with our Calendar engine. When an appointment is sent to one of my users and is accepted, the client replies by accepting the original appointment AND scheduling the same appointment with identical fields, times, dates, etc. e.g. A sents appointment to B at 3:30pm in conference room X B accepts appointment from A scheduled at 3:30pm in conference room x A receives an accept reply AND a duplicate appointment from B at 3:30pm in conference room x. If B accepts the appointment from our web accessible client, all is well. I have gone three times through the calendar settings of the affected user and compared them to my settings since we all use the same applications, clients, etc but I have yet to find anything. I have searched for postings with similar issues to no avail. Thanks. |

After a great deal of web surfing I found a promising solution that I am
still testiing. I added a DWORD entry labeled "DisableMeetingRegeneration" to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outolook\Optio ns\Calendar The value of the entry is 1 I have asked several colleagues to create test appointments which I have accepted from OL without the duplicate entry being created. That registry value changes Outlook's behavior back to what it was before SP2. You should check with Oracle to see if they have updated their connector software to work with SP2 yet. When they do and you install it, then you can change the value from 1 to 0 to take advantage of the improvements in meeting handling in SP2.

Sue. Thanks for the info but I have been searching far and wide for a
solution. The Oracle forums have not been productive and this old registry tweek has been the closest patch that I have found. I also need to correct my initial post regarding the version of OCFO. The version that I am using is 9.0.4.2.8. Tie latest 9.x version as documented by some Oracle knowledgebase articles is 9.0.4.2.11 which I have not been able to locate in their software depot. There is an MS support article that deals with a similar issue. See MS
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;899919 The University of Minessota also experienced a similar issue which was apparently fixed when they migrated to a newer version of Oracle Connector for Outlook. See http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=i...l-l&T=0&P=1114 "O Chacon" wrote: Sue. Thanks for the info but I have been searching far and wide for a solution.
