Whenever I open Outlook I get the following message: "There was a problem
reading one or more of your reminders. Some reminders may not appear.
Cannot locate recurrence information for this appointment,

Microsoft Office Outlook; Operation failed"

I havei run in safe mode - still happens, I have also reset folders and
cleaned remindrs - still happening. Even gone as far as Sytem Restore!
Still happening/ I am therefore NOT getting my reminders popping up - which
is worrying.... Any further suggestions please??? thank you

Please do no multi-post. Either pick a news group and wait for an answer there or cross-post (several groups at once showing all groups in the TO so people don't break their necks answering in different forums.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

Default MS Outlook '03. Reminders/operation failed and start up

In fear of having my wrist slapped again I have reposted this query but
changed the subject header. I still need help please if there is anyone that
can solve this for me I would really appreciate it. As explained below I was
getting a constant message telling me my reminders may not be read and an
Operation failed ballon on opening Outlook. I have now discovered that if I
open oulook in /cleanreminders every time that I still get the reminders and
alerts, (phew!) but also still get the some reminders may not be read
warning. I am terribly confused. I have also deleted my FRMCACHE data
file. I have run cleanfolders, run in safe mode etc. I only use the
calender for the simplest of tasks - I am not sharing it at all - I don't
think anyway. I have personalised the calander and syncronise it with my
contacst to Nokia PC Suite on a regular basis - probaly 2/3 times a week.
This has been working absolutely fine for near on 6 months now - just can't
understand why it should start playing up. If I have a corrupt file
somewhere - how do I go about trying to track it down. I have run clean ups,
spy searches etc, but nothing found. Look forward to receiving some help.
Thank you in anticipation. SM(

The fact is that if people coun't think of anything to suggest the first
time you posted, they won't be able to thing of anything the second, third,
or fourth times, either.

Default MS Outlook '03. Reminders failing

Ok - thanks Brian. Regretabbly it has taken me all this time to find an
answer after hours of searching I finally found some help and I just want to
pop it on here in case it may help others. Having run all the switches
possible, creating a new profile, messing about with pst files etc, starting
everytime in safemode, or clean reminders, I was still getting the message
"Unable to detect all your reminders etc" and a balloon telling me that
Outlook operation failed. Eventually I found searching back in the archives
a thread to a similar query on Outlook 98!! Follow these instructions if you
have this problem.

http://support.microsoft.com/default...en-us%3B195748

How I solved my reminder problem. Thankfully I only have about 80 reminders
so didn’t take me too long. Once found, I deleted it and reset it – simple
when you know how!!!

Hope this can help others.

Although this is for outlook 98 – apply same rules – you may not find the
addresses are exactly the same – but simply pull up all your reminders in one
window – double click to open. If it doesn’t open – then there’s your
problem!! Delete it and reset it.

I am so chuffed I managed to solve this at last. Good luck to everyone
else. SM
