We have recently created a new public calendar for a team of departments. We
would like to be able to request a meeting/appointment from our calendars and
have it posted on the team calendar.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Heather

If you have the administrator mail-enable the public folder, you'll be able to invite it to meetings.

Ms. Mosher...

A question of clarification:

So I am creating a public/shared calendar

I want to give specific users or a distribution list access to the calendar
(by way of Properties/permissions)

I want them to be able to copy all of the calendar entries to their personal
calendars. (by using the 'By Category' view feature)

I also want any changes made to the calendar to update the copy of the
meetings on the other user's calendars.

If we do as you suggested above, and email enable the calendar for invites,
can this automatically update the entries/copies on the distribution lists's
users' calendars? Or will this require another admistrative/IT function?

No, mainly because those items are copies and not associated with the original invitation.

No, it would require an application designed to provide the functionality you describe, which is not native to Outlook/Exchange. See http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sync.htm#exssync
