Default Disappearing recurring meetings

Hello,

We are experiencing quite a few meetings that disappear from people's
calendars. In most observed cases, they are recurring meetings that
are without a defined end-point.

I've always been told that scheduling meetings with infinite recurrence
is a bad thing, and I have warned against their use, but has anyone
seen this is a cause for disappearing meetings?

Thanks,
Bryce Burnet
