I set up a new profile for my boss (long story) and imported his e-mail
account using import/export pst file. Everything seems OK EXCEPT - he can't change the end time of his appointments. If you change the endtime the entire appointment moves to the endtime. All appt.s show as a half hour! I'm working with XP SP2, Office 2003, and Exchange 2003. I've re-done the export, changing the permissions, still not working. Now I have an unhappy boss. HELP! |

Do you store all the mail in a pst rather than on the server? Do new meetings work properly if you try to change their end time after creation? If you import the messages into a new account, do you have the same problem? -- f.h. |

I had to associate an "orphaned" email store with a new user account I set up
temporarily. I logged on to that temp e-mail account and exported the contents as a .PST file, which I then imported (several times to try to make it work). I haven't tried experimenting with a new appt. What would that tell me? Judy R "F.H. What would that tell me? Well, the first thing it would tell you is if you're dealing with a mailbox/client level problem, or a problem specifically with the imported appointments. Also, since you were able to get to the mail with the new user account, I'd recommend making sure that the problem does not exist there as well, just so we can be 100% sure the problem is only with the imported appointments after they are imported (which also makes me think you should try to change the end-time of an appointment *in* the pst itself). -- f.h. |

This was a very large mailbox, and I actually did several seperate imports -
mail folders, calendar, and contacts seperately. I need to have the calendar reside on the server, in the Exchange mailbox. How can I make that happen, if i don't import it? "Brian Tillman" wrote: Judy R Judy wrote: I set up a new profile for my boss (long story) and imported his e-mail account using import/export pst file. Never a good idea. Importing from a PST has odd side-effects and can often damage a mail profile. Everything seems OK EXCEPT - he can't change the end time of his appointments. Judy, Rather than import it, just add the pst to the mail profile and copy the appointments into the calendar. That's assuming that a new appointment in the mailbox works fine (iow, that it isn't a problem with the client). -- f.h. |

I tried adding an appt. Can't edit the end time. I opened a new profile,
can't edit the endtime. I added the originally exported .PST file to the profile as a personal folder, opened the calendar, and I can't see the appts! If I change to view to active appts they are there, but they don't show in the calendar view. What am I missing? "F.H. If you create a whole new appointment in the new mailbox you've imported into, you have the same problem, even in a new profile. It definitely sounds like there's some corruption, possibly in the form itself, that has migrated in from the pst. You mentioned that you exported from a mailox that was in Exchange, does that mailbox still exist? Is the data still there and can you change the information there (preferably from a different machine, if at all possile) successfully? -- f.h. |

Thanks for your efforts, it seems that the solution was something else
entirely. Under View/customize view/fields the start field had been set to end. When I reset it to start, all the problems went away. Judy R "F.H.
