Try the forms cache go in and wipe out the entire bunch.
Deleting the Forms Cache File: The Frmcache.dat file is the primary file to delete. The Frmcache.dat file serves as an index of the individual forms that have been cached on the computer. Use the following steps to manually delete the Frmcache.dat file. In addition, these steps delete all of the cached forms on your computer, which are stored in subfolders of the Forms folder. 1.. Quit Outlook. 2.. Search the Hard drive (F3) to locate the Frmcache.dat file. (Be sure to check in HIDDEN files on W2K or WXP.) 3.. Delete all that are found from the FIND window. 4.. Open Outlook. When you restart Outlook, and use a form, the forms cache is re-created. If you already tried this, I would suggest looking for a corrupt OST file: I would look into a possible synchronization problem or a corrupt OST file. You could try renaming the OST file with a .OLD extension. (This is to preserve the info, just in case) This needs to be done while Outlook is closed. Then when you open Outlook it will rebuild the OST file fresh. Depending on the size of the mailbox, it could take a bit of time for Outlook to build a new one. 1.. Quit Outlook. 2.. Search the Hard drive (F3) to locate the *.ost file. (Be sure to check in HIDDEN files on W2K or WXP.) 3.. Delete all that are found from the FIND window. 4.. Open Outlook. When you restart Outlook, and use a form, the forms cache is re-created. Lastly, This usually screams "Corrupted Recurring Meeting". Here's what I used to do, there is probably something easier out there but I haven't needed it for a while. To detect the offending item: 1) Open the mailbox in Outlook 2) Create a New folder (Calendar Test) 3) Do an advanced find on the old calendar and sort events by recurrence. - Press F3 - Change the Look For: text box to Appointments and Meetings - Click on the Advanced tab - Click Field - Select All Appointment fields - Select Recurring - Condition: equals - Value: Yes - Click the Add to List button - Click Find Now Drop and drag from advanced find listed events one at a time to the new calendar, when you get to the corrupt item it will give you an error message. (delete this item) Move all your calendar items from Calendar Test folder back to original calendar (these are previously dragged over items). Nikki "Ampy" wrote in message ... Now working through removing multiple categories as well. Clearly this is a bug. Any ideas? I have: repaired office, created a new profile, same results. |

No, nothing inside the new 'temp' calendar.
Basically I tried to brand new empty calendar, and about to try the "search reccurring event from the old calendar" but when I click on the new calendar, Outlook crash already... Also, how do you search for "reccuring events" from old calendar without opening it? as the search button located in mail won't search from calendar, is there any shortcut for it? (ie: F3)? Thanks "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: is there anything in the new calendar? -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com |

Hi Diane,
No, nothing new in the new calendar. I create new temporary calendar, hoping that I can search recurring events from old calendar and move it to the new one, and hoping I can find the 'defective' recurring events. Also, how do you search for recurring events from calendar, if the fact once you click any of the calendars, outlook crash already? Is there any way that I can do "Search" from MAIL but selecting from CALENDAR folder? (perhaps a shortcut like CTRL+F or F3?) because I can't do search from MAIL and search for CALENDAR events ![]() Thanks heaps "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: is there anything in the new calendar? -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com |
